At the recently concluded Board of Regents Meeting held at the Commission on Higher Education Central Office last Saturday, Dr. Ruby Santos- Matibag, College of Nursing and Midwifery Dean of BPSU was elected as Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) President, making her the first woman to hold said post.

During a public forum held last March 30, Dr. Ruby Santos – Matibag expressed her vision to make BPSU the center of excellence on education that is accessible and collaborative to all the constituents.

She also encouraged the need for change and innovation to comply with the increasing demand and quality that society requires.

As the new President, her four (4) year term will start on April 23, 2023 as the third President, following outgoing President Gregorio J. Rodis.

Other exceptional leaders who aspired for said post were, Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia, Dr. Emmanuel Macaraeg and Dr. Reynaldo Campos.
